Bug Description

Using Ubuntu 14.10 with Nautilus 3.10.1

Installed gnome-xcf-thumbnailer, but it didn't work.

A quick search led me to this http://www.webupd8.org/2013/07/how-to-get-xcf-thumbnails-in-nautilus.html

Its a workaround published in mid 2013, which simply gives the details of the configuration file that needs to be added, /usr/share/thumbnailers/gnome-xcf.thumbnailer

I assume that this should be installed automatically.

I'm setting this to confirmed because following the steps from the link in the description resolves the issue for me. I'm using Artful Aardvark (17.10).

gnome-xcf-thumbnailer is not to be found in Ubuntu 20.04 repositories

If using the package from 19.10 repo, it does not create the .thumbnailer file
→ is this expected ?

No thumbnails for .xcf are shown anywhere ( nemo, gthumb or else )
