Gnome Video Arcade don't load ROM files

Bug Description
Lubuntu 12.10
gnome-video-arcade 0.8.3-1
mame 0.146-2
When I launch gnome-video-arcade it says that there are no ROM files.
I have some ROM files that I can load from the MAME menu. This files are stored in "$HOME/.mame/roms" folder, one of the ROM folders added to the "$HOME/
There's no other MAME fronted app in the Lubuntu repos that can be used as alternative.
