Bug Description

Binary package hint: libgnomevfs2-0

Since Edgy, Ekiga crash on exit see: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/76966

A patch for libgnomevfs "adds some protections against g_atexit handlers and thread-local
storage finalizers running in the "wrong" order, which could possibly cause a
crash like this."
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359655#c147

Currently, 2006-12-23, there is 353 entries in bugzilla of Ekiga which most are duplicate bugs.

Even a package for ubuntu edgy has been produced : http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359655#c206

This bug just *hurt* the devloppement team of Ekiga, wasting their time.

Please, fix this by uploading a patched package of gnome-vfs in unbuntu edgy.

Regards,
Yannick Defais

Thank you for your bug. I've already exchanged several mails with ekiga upstreams about that, I'm subscribed to the upstream bug too. As explained to them a stable update is on the way, your bug is a duplicate. Exageration is not useful, there is a bunch of duplicate every day, they are easy to spot though and marking them take like a minute

Changed in gnome-vfs2:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

As you said, it is "easy to spot though and marking them take like a minute". I guess you can manage more than 300 duplicates in 2 months easily too like the ekiga dev team is currently doing. Right ?

no problem to mark a bunch of duplicates daily, no. I'm going to subscribe to ekiga bugzilla now and mark them duplicates for you from now. Note that 300 duplicates is not a lot, there is nautilus bugs with over a thousand duplicate. bugzilla.gnome has a feature to stop duplicates from known bugs too, did any of you tried to speak to the bugsquad to work with them on doing it for that crash?
