Bug Description

My harddrive is approx 500GB. Baobab reports that it is 2TB. This happens if I run Baobab normally, or via gksu.

GParted reports the correct size.

Ubuntu 11.10

baobab:
  Installed: 3.2.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.2.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.2.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://za.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.2.0-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://za.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages

Harddrive details included in screenshot (attached).

What I see in your screenshot is that you have a Total Filesystem capacity of 2TB.
This includes every mount you may have in your system (including remote mounts) and not disabled from Baobab preferences. GParted reports only local disks (and in the screenshot you are showing just /dev/sda).

Changed in gnome-utils:
importance: Unknown → Medium
status: Unknown → Invalid
Changed in gnome-utils (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Thanks. Under "Preferences" I can see that in fact /dev/sda1 is reported as 486 GB.
