If it doesnt work is because of the permissions, try changing the permissions and read the log file again, system log will let you see it. As Shirish said it should use sudo and that's a known bug upstream: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126051 ; I'll change the description of this bug and link to that one, thanks.
