Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-utils
Naturally since the logs viewed in gnome-system-log are kept based on the rules set in etc/logrotate.conf, I think gnome-system-log needs to be able to set a preference on the number of days/weeks the admin would like to keep logs. The calendar functionality is great, but it indicates this feature which is lacks a front end for configuration, I don't think we need the fine grain control that logrotate.conf offers, but at least minimal configuration.
This can be accomplished by adding the following functionality:
Edit > Preferences
Rotate logs [Pull Down] daily | weekly | monthly
Keep backlogs for [Field] weeks
Compress logs [Radio Buttons] Yes/No
