Bug Description

The location of each file on your computer is given by a path to the directory where it can be found. The location for a file identified as /home/jim/Resume.pdf would be a directory identified as /home/jim. Moreover, the absolute path to /usr/lib64/libc.a is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.a but the location is still shown as /usr/lib64.

It is possible, although rather unusual, that Jim’s resume will be in location /home/jim/Resume.pdf; it would have to be in a directory named Resume.pdf.

The "Files properties" page was changed in Ubuntu 17.10, so what previously was called "Location" is now called "Parent Folder".

That makes more sense, doesn't it?

At the same time I see that the label in Files is still "Location"...

That's true if you navigate via the symlink. It's not obviously wrong, is it? It's one of two ways to find the file.
