Bug Description
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
gnome-tweaks 3.34.0-2ubuntu1
AOC USB monitor
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 17e9:ff10 DisplayLink I1659FWUX
What I expected to happen:
When the USB3.0 Displaylink monitor is plugged in and gnome-tweaks installed the display remains on and attached as a monitor
What happened instead:
Installed fresh Ubuntu 20.04
Installed the Displaylink driver
Ran the machine for 3 days both the primary display and extended USB display worked fine
Installed gnome-tweaks
sudo apt install gnome-tweaks
the USB3.0 monitor goes black and is removed from the screen settings and xrandr
uninstall gnome-tweaks
sudo apt purge gnome-tweaks
the USB3.0 monitor turns on again and is visible in lsusb and xrandr
install gnome-tweaks
USB3.0 monitor goes blank and removed from xrandr
restart the Displaylink driver
sudo systemctl restart displaylink-
screen remains blank and removed from xrandr
uninstall gnome tweaks
screen turns back on again and everything is back to normal.
