Bug Description

With the upgrade to 19.10, when I launch gnome-tweaks, it renders the window, but the title bar is transparent for a number of seconds (and therefore the '<' icon is unavailable for navigating the tool). Eventually, the title bar is fully rendered and the tool works fine.

Launching from a gnome-terminal I see:

$ gnome-tweaks

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:24.430: Negative content width -19 (allocation 5, extents 12x12) while allocating gadget (node label, owner GtkLabel)

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:24.615: Negative content width -19 (allocation 5, extents 12x12) while allocating gadget (node label, owner GtkLabel)

(at this point it is in the partially rendered state and it will stay here for 10 or more seconds, then, at the time it renders, these next lines are shown)

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:42.729: Negative content width -19 (allocation 5, extents 12x12) while allocating gadget (node label, owner GtkLabel)

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:42.784: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -28 and height 17

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:42.784: Negative content width -23 (allocation 1, extents 12x12) while allocating gadget (node label, owner GtkLabel)

(gnome-tweaks:30568): Gtk-WARNING **: 06:17:42.848: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -28 and height 17

Possibly related, sometimes, but not always, when it is time to close the window, I need to click the 'x' in the title bar to close the window twice. Also, sometimes, but not always, on start I see the title bar rendered correctly briefly before it goes transparent, only to have it come back properly after a number of seconds.

I am using wayland, but gnome-tweaks displays the say behavior when run under Xwayland (eg, via xterm).

This may be related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweaks/+bug/1847136 since the reporter in that bug also refers to issues with the title bar.
