Description: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

$ apt-cache policy gnome-text-editor

After entering a key after a dead key, the dead key glyph should disappear from the cursor.

Every time I enter a key after a dead key, the dead key glyph follows the cursor around until I press Backspace, which deletes the dead key glyph *and* the last letter I typed.

Please, see a video of the bug here: https://youtu.be/RF5s0UT3KoE

This doesn’t happen in any other Gnome application that I’ve tried.
