Bug Description

In the Profile Preferences for gnome-terminal, I turned off 'Show menubar by default in new terminals'

In gconf-editor, I turned off default_show_menubar unders apps/gnome-terminal/Profiles/default

'gnome-terminal --hide-menubar' doesn't work either.

You can turn the menubar off and on however. But it's not persistent when you shutdown/restart the terminal.

Also affected by this one after upgrade to oneiric -- not using Unity interface. Menu is there despite changing default setting and using gconf-editor to check it is changed. Can manually toggle it but not persistently turn the menu off.

This can be fixed by sudo apt-get remove appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-gtk appmenu-qt
then logout and login again. Not sure why it appeared in the first place.
