Bug Description

When I open gnome-terminal and other applications, and then press alt-tab, the task switcher never lists the gnome-terminal applications. I have to minimise all other windows in order to interact with them. Clearly this is less than ideal!

I just ran the update manager and it did a partial upgrade (lots of package changes). After rebooting I tested this again and it is working fine.

Not only happens with Terminal, but with other apps like:

- Krusader
- LibreOffice Writer instances
- .....

They disappear from the alt-tab and from the left column of icons.
The only way to reach them, is by minimizing other windows. It is painful when many windows are opened.

It works ok most of the time, but I don't know how, its internal state gets corrupted, and not all running windows are accessible from the task bar and alt-tab switcher.
Maybe, it can get corrupted when the system is hibernated.

This occurs for me nearly all of the time. I'm running the x64 version of 12.04.

As a kind of workaround, do alt-F2 and then "unity". All your windows will get dumped on the same workspace, but at least your alt-tab will be working properly again.
