Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Transcript of xterm session:

lealcy@reign:~$ time gnome-terminal
The program 'gnome-terminal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 105 error_code 2 request_code 78 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Thank you for your bug. Do you use the nvidia xorg driver and a multi monitor setup?

Yes, I did. In tests I discovered that the gnome-terminal only break
when Xinerama is active. Using Twinview or multiple x-session,
gnome-terminal don't broke.

Hi guys,

I don't think this is an nvidia bug.

I am using the ati xorg driver, radeon 9200 and I am seeing the same thing.

xterm, gnome-terminal or even gedit dying and taking Xwindow with them unexpectedly

running ubuntu 8.04

cheers,

Luis
