Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

1. Experienced on Ubuntu 10.10 x64
2. gnome-terminal version 2.32.0-0ubuntu1
3. Expected tabs to change successfully.
4. Instead, gnome-terminal crashed, taking all open tabs with it.

I have repeated this bug on two machines, both with ubuntu 10.10 x64.

Steps to repeat:
1. Open gnome terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal).
2. Maximise the window.
3. Open a second tab.
4. Zoom out four or more times, either by pressing ctrl+- or by selecting Zoom Out from the View menu.
5. Switch tabs, by pressing ctrl+pgup, ctrl+pg down or by clicking on another tab with the mouse.
6. gnome-terminal crashes.

Just tested this on the 10.10 32-bit install on my macbook pro, and you have to zoom out five times before it'll crash. Otherwise the symptoms are the same.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
