actually now i am using xterm, since from the last update gnome-terminal couldn't be started. The error is:

no, i've created another user to test it, but the situation is the same, also removed the terminal's gconf keys, but it's the same. i think it's gtk= problem. i am attaching my xsession-errors.

There is no need to ask the bug reporter for these, or any, details. Just do a bit of research!

This bug is
(a) known upstream,
(b) fixed upstream since 2.24.1, but
(c) the fix is reverted by a patch in the ubuntu package.

So this is entirely ubuntu's fault.

The change is coming from Debian in this case: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=531734 ; changelog entry:

"gnome-terminal (2.26.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * 02_let_gconf_autostart.patch: Don’t exit if there is no GConf daemon
    running. Instead, let dbus-daemon and gconfd be autostarted as they
    should be if this is needed. Thanks to Sean Finney for the
    suggestion. Closes: #531734 and some duplicates.
