Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

after installing language fonts (whichever i could find) hindi font doesn't seem to work. Hindi words are not appearing properly.

Thanks for the report, it just gnome-terminal that is unable to display the fonts? or do you have the same issue with another application, like nautilus for example? does changing the font on the appearances works ok? from where did you downloaded the fonts?

I have noticed this font problem with gnome-terminal and with some websites which contain hindi material.
i installed the fonts through Synaptic package manager ("fontconfig")'
