Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

There's not a lot I have to go on for this bug, unfortunately.

gnome-terminal seems to crash sometimes when I close one of the windows (using ctrl-d in bash; don't think that matters, though.)

There's no trace generated, and the only thing I see in my .xsession-errors file is
ERROR:terminal-tabs-menu.c:133:free_tab_id: assertion failed: (id >= 0 && id < t
abs_id_array->len * 8)

The terminals were all opened by gnome-do; perhaps that's related. I'm unable to post the entire .xsession-errors file, because it has some semi-confidential information spewed by gnome-do.

I'm using compiz as the window manger with 20 virtual desktops (4 rows of 5 columns)

I should also mention that this is x86_64

It seems to happen reliably when I open and then immediately close the 11th (or more) window

It does not matter if the terminals are in different directories (or opened with different directories; I played around with this a bit) or on different workspaces. I can reliably crash gnome-terminal on the 11th (or more window) on the same workspace, same directory.

dpkg -l gnome-terminal:
ii gnome-terminal 2.24.0-0ubuntu2 The GNOME 2 terminal emulator application
