Bug Description

To reproduce:

open a terminal.
type 'gnome-terminal --full-screen'

This should start a full-screen terminal; however, around 40% of the time the
terminal flickers to fullscreen and then settles to a normal 80x24 window.

No error messages I can see.

Thanks for your bugreport, which version of gnome-terminal do you use? I took

2.12.0-0ubuntu2

(should I reply here or the upstream bug?)

Wherever you like, but it's easier to take the discussion upstream. I'm tracking
the bug as well, so we'll both know, when there are news about it.

I can confirm the bug.

Also I changed the command from the launcher properties. I put exactly this command:

gnome-terminal --hide-menubar --working-directory=%f --full-screen

When I click the launcher, the GNOME Terminal opens in full screen but immediatly resizes back to normal windowed mode. Sometimes it works, randomly. Fails more often than it works.

Configuration:
Ubuntu Linux 5.10 Breezy Badger
GNOME 2.12.1
Metacity 2.12.1
GNOME Terminal 2.12.0

FWIW, I can reproduce this bug in dapper too, using gnome-terminal 2.13.90.
