I have resolved with:
sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/mountdevsubfs.sh /etc/rcS.d/S11mountdevsubfs.sh

sudo vi /etc/fstab
add string:
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw 0 0

save and reboot

I am also having this issues after upgrading to 9.04. I'm glad some one has a solution but how exactly do I run those commands with no terminal?

I'm an idiot and forgot about ctrl+alt+F1 for a second, but I tried out those commands and they did not work for me.

hit ctrl+alt+F1 or ctrl+alt+F2, once or twice.

Hi guys,
I have tried all the recommendations here but still no luck.
This is really annoying as I need to run a terminal every now and then, also, I cannot SSH into my server:
"Unable to spawn SSH process"
I somehow believe that the two issues are related.
Could it be a permission issue???
