Bug Description

Running :
Description: Ubuntu Zesty Zapus (development branch)
Release: 17.04

Not sure where to postthis but...

Just noticed that "Right Click" options for the "Terminal" App are missing when it's locked to the 'Launcher' side-bar.

You used to get the option to open "Open a New Window" or "Open a New Tab" when you right clicked on the launcher icon.

Now the only options are "Terminal", "Unlock from Launcher" and "Quit".

Affects me too - very annoying!
Tried replacing the gnome-terminal.desktop file with the one from Yakkety, but that didn't help, so I'm out of ideas.
Other applications such as Firefox have their right click options just fine.

For a temporary workaround, which at least gives you back the "New Terminal" context menu item:

File "/usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop" includes line:

OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity7;

In 16.04 that line was:

OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;

I changed line to remove the "7" (and remove locked icon and re-lock on Launcher) I now get "New Terminal" again on right-click. However, there is something odd, because although I can open a new terminal now from that icon, it launches a single new icon for the new terminal and that one does not offer "New Terminal".

The workaround Jon describes does nothing for me.

Workaround does not work for me either, nor did https://askubuntu.com/questions/908201/how-to-restore-open-new-terminal-by-right-click-in-unity.

Hoping for some insight on this *regression*

I take that back, commenting out the line in /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop worked for me. Not sure why there is /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop and /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop.

@sbierman & @md-5
I'm not sure of the relationship between the two files, but in addition to `/usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop` you may also need to change `/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop` similarly.
