time-admin crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

Using Ubuntu Karmic up-to-date as of today.

While trying to set time zone in time-admin :
The timezone shows null even though /etc/timezone reports a valid timezone.
The timezone dropdown list is empty.
The timezone image is corrupt (shows as most black rather than a picture of the world).
