Thanks for your bug report. Could you please tell me which version of gnome-applets you use and where you find the information about /etc/chatscript s/ppp0? Neither gnome-applets nor gnome-system-tools (which does the network configuration for modem_applet) do ship it. (It might rather be a gnome-system-tools bug).
