ifup ppp0 does nothing

Bug Description

Choosing activate triggers the modem applet to send a command to the running
g-s-t backend, but no ppp session is started.

Right. /etc/ppp/peers/ppp0 has:

connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f ppp0"

chat looks for a file called ppp0, but doesn't look in /etc/chatscripts. g-s-t
should probably be writing a file that has an absolute pathname, not a relative one.
