Bug Description
I’ve always used System Monitor and kept it running on a workspace, to see how my system is running and doing. Sometimes a browser starts running weird, slow and balky. I check on System to find out which Process is causing this and shut it down, to get things running better again. It always ran fine and was very stable on earlier versions of Ubuntu. However on 24.04 it crashes very often.
This never happened before. What may be causing System Monitor to crash so often with 24.04?

Thanks for opening the bug as suggested in Discourse.
Unfortunately, Apport uploaded no crash file to the bug. Can please you confirm no such crash is available in the /var/crash/ directory? If yes, please attach it here.
Otherwise, please from now on start the program from the terminal this way:
gnome- system- monitor |& tee system-monitor.log
and then, once the program crashes, upload system-monitor.log to this bug report. That might turn out to still be insufficient but it's a first step.
