Bug Description

After uninstalling the snap support, I installed the classic gnome software center.
However, a large white space is visible in the middle of the application, between the sections "recent versions" and "categories".

Commands as root:
- apt-get install gnome-software
- apt-get autoremove --purge snapd gnome-software-plugin-snap

Thank you for your bug report, does it do it all the time? Could you add your 'journalctl -b 0' log after triggering the bug?

Yes, since yesterday the bug is still present. I added the 'journalctl -b 0'.

the log has

avril 16 18:09:35 Beta gnome-software[2021]: hiding category audio-video featured applications: found only 0 to show, need at least 9

unsure why it's not finding those though, do you get any clue if you start gnome-software with verbose enabled?

I don't have the exact issue, no empty spaces between "apps" and "categories". There are no apps displayed on the storefront except the categories and a small banner. As report in: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1879318
