Bug Description

Found my pc running very slowly. Currently machine is swapping like mad. Highest users of RAM are chrome and gnome-software. I've closed chrome, and note that gnome-software is climbing at an alarming rate of hundreds of MB every few seconds.

I don't even have the graphical store open, only the background service is doing this.

Currently 5.7GB RAM consumed.

This is the rate of growth every 5 seconds.

$ while [[ 1 = 1 ]]; do ps aux | grep gnome-software | grep -v grep; sleep 5; done

systemd-journald is eating 100% cpu and journalctl is getting spammed by gnome-software. Laptop is completely unusable at this point as RAM is exhausted and system is swapping like crazy.
