Volume or brightness levels won't be remembered

I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 with gnome shell. If I change volume or brightness levels, they won't be remembered within the next login. Is this normal?

Solved removing manually .pulse folder in home.

Please upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.
