The crash happened just after boot + login, he did it all himself :)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, according to this report, you were not using the most recent version of gnome-shell for Ubuntu 11.10. Please upgrade to the most recent version and let us know if you are still having this issue. Thanks in advance.
