When the screen locks on its own, on-screen instructions say to click or enter a key to unlock screen. All previous versions of Ubuntu allow me to start typing my password and the password box would appear and populate as I was typing. After installing Ubuntu 24.04 I now have to click the mouse to bring up the password screen, then type my password.
If I manually lock the screen the keyboard input works as expected - I can simply start typing my password to log in.
