Bug Description

When I alt-tab from a fulscreen window and click on the window I want to go to with my mouse, the entire desktop freezes, instead of just opening the window I'm trying to go to. I can move my mouse around and audio is still playing, but everything is unresponsive.

Version of Ubuntu: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

Update: It unfreezes if I press space twice, I don't know if this is a setting or not.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2061216/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Thanks for the bug report. Next time the freeze happens, please:

1. Unfreeze it.

2. Open a Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run:

   journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

3. Attach the resulting text file here.

Changed in gnome-shell (Ubuntu):

It could be ibus-related

Also try to get a backtrace following (the last part of) this:

Then provide the logs
