I just rebooted and video works fine both in gnome and firefox. So, maybe the reason is with recent kernel and amdgpu driver.

About 10 minutes after my previous comment, gnome-shell crashed again on another Telegram video, and driver failed to recover my Gnome session, so I had to force reboot with magic SysRq.

So I reverted Firefox snap to revision 2487 (firefox 111.0.1-2) and for about an hour I have no problems with crashes and videos works fine. Experiment is not perfect as I had to create a fresh firefox profile, as my main one was upgraded to a newer version and older FF refuses to use it. But still, it looks like that some code in FF 112 related to video playback forces crashes in gnome-shell/video driver.

Yesterday I had zero problems with FF revision 2487 (firefox 111.0.1-2), but today I got a bunch of updated mesa packages for 23.04, so, decided to check if they helped, upgraded FF snap once again to rev.2559 and this time system worked for a couple of hours before total GUI crash on some youtube video.
