Bug Description

It appears rather randomly and so is hard to reproduce reliably, but every once in a while the gnome gets stuck in the activities overview mode. Windows may be closed and the drop down menu in the right corner may still be accessed, but it is not possible to exit the overview mode without logging out of the shell. The frequency of the bug increases greatly if the "Activities hot corner" extension is enabled (which probably just makes entering this mode more frequent after random mouse moves). It appears both in Wayland and Xorg (though more often in Xorg). I might be mistaken, but it's possible that the bug also happens more often when there's some contextual menu open at the same when the switch to the overview mode is made.

This bug started appearing for me only after upgrade to 21.04, so I am reporting it as a new bug even though similar things happened to various users earlier...
