Bug Description

When I connect an external monitor (HDMI), and arrange it above the laptop monitor (same resolution), and click "Show Applications" button in lower left, the "Frequent" and "All" buttons are near the top of the laptop screen instead of at the bottom, and the matrix of applications is blanked out (the bottom 2/3 of the laptop screen). If I start typing, I can see the top half of the icons that match what I am typing.

Could you use that command to add the needed details to the bug
$ apport-collect 1870848
and add the 'journalctl -b 0' after triggering the issue
