Bug Description

Text console (VT) is visible between gnome-shell exiting and the Plymouth shutdown screen.

Looks like gnome-shell is exiting too quickly, or plymouthd starting too slowly. Ideally both should be running simultaneously to get a clean transition...?

The proposed fix for bug 1970069 seems to solve this too. So long as you've never VT switched there won't be any text visible on shutdown.
