Bug Description

[ Impact ]

Gnome-shell in Bionic spams the journal with error such as:

giu 05 17:33:24 tricky gnome-shell[4049]: JS ERROR: ReferenceError: GLib is not defined

When changing the volume scrolling over the volume indicator.

[ Test case ]

- Run `journalctl -ef -b0 /usr/bin/gnome-shell`
- Scroll with the mouse over the volume indicator
- No error should be spammed by gnome-shell metnioning a ReferenceError

[ Regression potential ]

None, a JS include is missing, and adding it can't canuse any trouble.

Does this mean that the fix for the bug in cosmic is not present in the 3.30.2-0ubuntu1.18.10.1 gnome-shell upload (currently in -proposed)?

Hello Marco, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-shell into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Lukasz, the bug in cosmic was already fixed in previous uploads, only bionic was affected

no longer affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu Cosmic)

Tested in gnome-shell 3.28.3+git20190124-0ubuntu18.04.1,

No error is spawned here.
