Bug Description
Mouse clicks not working *only* in the application launcher and the menu bar.
I recently switched from an HDD to an SSD and installed a fresh Ubuntu 14.04.4 (64 bits). Everything runs smoothly. The only problem I have now prior to before is the mouse clicks randomly not working *only* in the application launcher and the menu bar. It works normally in applications already opened and the desktop, so it's clearly not a mouse-related hardware issue. Hovering over menu items on the top-right (calendar, rotary menu, sound, etc.) shows nothing.
I have to resort to [Ctl][Alt][L] (change user) and re-enter, or [Ctl][Alt][Del], exit session and re-enter. Not a big deal for a seasoned user, but a real problem for newcomers to Ubuntu/Linux.
Going from X to a terminal and back ([Alt][F1] then [Alt][F7]) does not make the mouse behave any better.
Any thoughts anyone?
