Bug Description
If I middle-click on an icon in the gnome-shell message tray, I am no longer able to interact with any open applications until I restart the shell. If I run "xdotool key XF86LogGrabInfo" in SSH, X reports in /var/log/Xorg.0.log that gnome-shell is holding input grabs:
[127752.125] (II) Printing all currently active device grabs:
[127752.125] Active grab 0x1000000 (xi2) on device 'Virtual core pointer' (2):
[127752.125] client pid 2743 /usr/bin/
[127752.125] at 118408724 (from active grab) (device thawed, state 1)
[127752.125] xi2 event mask for device 2: 0xf0100
[127752.125] owner-events false, kb 1 ptr 1, confine 0, cursor 0x0
[127752.125] Active grab 0x1000000 (xi2) on device 'Virtual core keyboard' (3):
[127752.125] client pid 2743 /usr/bin/
[127752.125] at 118408724 (from active grab) (device thawed, state 1)
[127752.125] xi2 event mask for device 3: 0xc000
[127752.125] owner-events false, kb 1 ptr 1, confine 0, cursor 0x0
It appears as though this may have already been reported and fixed upstream, but it does not appear to have been backported to 3.8.x: https:/
