Bug Description

Hello,

try this to reproduce this bug:

- download a GTK3 theme compatible gnome-shell 3.6 on this website: http://gnome-look.org/
- install it in ~/themes
- choose this theme in gnome-tweak (both actual theme and gtk+ theme)

--> the theme applied for the inside window (gtk) but not for the window border (mutter?)

2nd test:

- use the same theme, delete it from the ~/themes folder and install it in the /usr/share/themes/ folder
- choose this theme in gnome-tweak (both actual theme and gtk+ theme)

--> the theme apply both gtk and window border

Could you reproduce this bug?

It seems Gnome Shell in 3.6.1 looks for metacity themes in ~/.local/share/themes instead of in ~/.themes. Gtk still looks for themes in ~/.themes, though. As a workaround, you can symlink one of the locations to the other one.
