Bug Description

Enable gnome-control-center > accessibility > seeing > large text and open a couple of windows.

Observed: It is difficult to identify open windows in the dock. They are represented by a small dot to the left of their respective icons.

Expected: It is easy to identify open windows in the dock. E.g., they are represented similarly to the active window, probably with a different color to distinguish them from it.

The problem is more pronounced the smaller the dock size.

Surprisingly, changing the accent color (as a more vivid color would help distinguishing it from the dunkel background) does not reflect the dots size for me, they are always blue.

That's the old version of ubuntu-dock. Can you try version 93ubuntu1 from Oracular?

Same problem in the gnome-shell launcher. And dash-to-dock/ubuntu-dock started relying on gnome-shell for the dot style in 46.2 onward. So this seems like a gnome-shell bug.

It looks like upstream gnome-shell doesn't support accent colours on the dots(?). So while that could be improved for high contrast mode, it seems like most of the problem here might be in Ubuntu's custom gnome-shell patches.
