Icons not seen in dock when background colour changed using dconf editor

When I changed the background colour of the dock using dconf editor, all the icons disappeared and a blank dock was left. I recently upgraded from 21.04 to 21.10. When I reset dock settings in the dconf editor with 'dconf reset -f /org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/' command, it works again with default settings. The current Xorg version installed is 1:7.7+22ubuntu2. I am using Wayland gnome session.
