VirtualBox icon does not show un dock until screen locks

Bug Description

Quite simple: I start VirtualBox or a virtual machine straight from the build directory (without installing) and the icon in the dock is a red, crossed-out circle. After deliberately or due to a timeout locking the screen and unlocking it, the correct X11 property icon is shown.

Mh, I can't reproduce this with standard builds, in your setup is any .desktop file for that installed or just running the binary with no setup in well known paths?

No desktop files installed: everything running out of the build directory, and the only thing installed outside is the kernel modules and a udev rule.

Reproducible in focal fossa on all my installations (to PCs and laptop). Used virtualbox from repository (6.1.6_Ubuntu r137129). Show empty icon for running VM, until I disable/enable dock using "Extensions".

Screenshot attached.

Sebastien, it's fully reproducible.
In focal - just "sudo apt install virtualbox-qt" from standard repo.
Create any virtual machine and run it. Issue immediately visible.

Confirmed on focal, it's also not an issue with a GNOME session in the 'overview screen launcher' so seems specific to dashtodock
