When adding an app to favourites, two icons are created.

On Ubuntu 17.10, I wanted to add gnome-terminal to the favorites. Usually in Gnome, the item gets added one times. Instead, there were two items of gnome-terminal in the favorites.

Interesting this was first reported against the standard gnome-shell dock (comment #1) but apparently is being reported against ubuntu dock too (bug 1723355)

Note that the issue with the Ubuntu dock only happens when you _drag_ the icon from the activities window to the doc. If you favorite the app using right-click menu, then the icon is only added once.

on a fresh install of ubuntu 18.04 in virtualbox i can experiment this problem since this week updates

it's a bit different from this bug report as I have this bug when adding terminal or totem or cheese with right click, not only by drag and drop

Don't know if it's the same bug or coming from a very recent update

Although I execute the test case often (when installing Ubuntu fresh), I don't remember seeing this bug. Is it still present?

I was affected but I haven't seen it since 17.10, I seem to remember it was actually fixed a long time ago, but this bug report must have been forgotten.
