Bug Description

We're updating to GNOME 3.32, and the extensions listed here are known to be broken with that version.

This does not mean that extensions not listed are working - these are just the ones that we know to be broken.

They will be removed from disco, but anyone should feel free to fix them (maybe the upstreams have already) before the release and they can go back in.

gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-panel upstream claims to be 3.32-ready.

I have updated to v19 (disco included v18) & performed basic tests using gnome-shell-3.31.92-1ubuntu1 and have not observed any issues. Feel free to request additional tests.

dash-to-dock, extension-reloader, gsconnect, removable drive menu, activities-configurator, laine, media-player-indicator, cpufreq, and system-monitor all fail on my ubuntu 19.04 system since the last few days.

It looks like a lot of extensions were broken due to a bug in glib (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/issues/227) and that the proposed repo has a new version of gnome-shell that might fix it (see https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2413138&p=13842678#post13842678).

Re my previous comment, that fix is not in ubuntu-proposed yet.

gnome-shell-extension-workspaces-to-dock version 49-1 from Ubuntu repo loads but is terribly buggy with gnome-shell 3.32, e.g. it frequently covers the right side of windows and sometimes there is more then one panel. Version 50 from the extension website seems to work better at least so far, didn't try for long yet.

A bunch of extensions are not currently working in 3.34 as well. Would you like me to setup a new bug report to track those as well? Not sure if this bug report is still relevant. I know that pomodoro is working in disco, but I've moved to eaon now.

I know it's not directly an Ubuntu problem, but for normal users this regular breakage (that occurs after release as well and also with Ubuntu-packaged extensions, see older posts) is a huge problem. Sometimes you can't even get to the desktop due to broken extensions.

Gnome 3.32 is "Won't Fix" because that's in Ubuntu 19.04 which is no longer supported:
