Brightness resets to FULL whenever I start ubuntu

Bug Description

the Brightness setting in 11.10 resets to full-brightness every time I start ubuntu. Every time I start ubuntu I have to go into settings again and reduce the Brightness output by half.

How do you get Ubuntu to KEEP what settings you set in the Brightness settings?

I have the same problem.
Hardware:
-Laptop Toshiba Tecry R840
-Netbook asus X101H
Oneric don't keep the display brightness after restart.
