here it has only ~980Mb memory usage

here I've choose to check Memory Maps in System Monitor when it was at ~1.3Gb

It's affected me too in Ubuntu 10.10(amd64)

Also during this keyboard layot changing randomly, so typing is impossible.

Grigoriy Anikin, try to disable option "separate layout for each window" in keyboard preferences.

Same problem. It seems that every time I change keyboard layout it gets worse.
