Bug Description
I have recently installed Intrepid Alpha 3, with the proprietary nVidia drivers. Within the notification area the icon for changing screen resolution has appeared, and after being used for a day and reset multiple times seems to want to stay.
This is confusing, because my laptop is running very well at its native resolution. I attempted to change to a lower resolution and then back again in an attempt to get rid of the icon. Changing the resolution down resulted in crashing the gnome setting daemon.
I'm not running compiz, and turning it on seems to have no effect.
System overview;
Dell Vostro 1400
Intel Core 2 Duo T7250
nVidia Geforce 8400M GS
Running 8.04 Alpha 3 off a USB hard drive.
