Bug Description

Currently, the Presentation Mode key doesn't do anything useful (except for
generating an event). I think the best "standard" action would be starting the
default presentation program.

It sets the power mode to "Presentation", and gives me a configuration screen
(which feels like a "You don't have powerpoint, shame on you" dialog).

Seb, any hope of being able to add an entry to the keyboard shortcuts for this?

hmm recently on the same laptop the (i) button no longer runs gnome help. It
worked in preview. I can open a new bug for this if Martijn confirms it

There is some discussion upstream about the default apps (calculator, player,
...) and the keys to start them:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300514

Listing all the kind of apps will make a long dialog which is not optimal...

On nc8230, I use the presentation hotkey to change to an external monitor. Nice
feature.

 - (i) key used to open gnome help on Edgy, is dead on Gutsty (as of today)

 - presentation/projector key does nothing, but as I use xrandr to run various dual-head modes (on, off, mirrored, ext VGA on the left, ext VGA on the right) I think the *best* use of this key is to rotate the xrandr modes. Specially important when you cannot do it from a gui because most of your desktop was in the VGA monitor/projector _just_ disconnected.

Keycodes seen

This seems to be a request for a desktop-level keymapping, not a problem with the hotkey failing to generate an event. Reassigning to the desktop stack.

affects: hotkey-setup (Ubuntu) → gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
