Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

after updating 8.04 on March 4th I started seeing this crash.

What version did you have before? was it working correctly or did you have the issue already? what videocard and driver are you using?

Can you attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (we can determine the driver from this)?

Also, I have a gut feeling that you may need the fixed gnome-settings-daemon as well, which is available here: http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/Uploads/
Can you install that and see if the issue is resolved?

yes,
http://people.ubuntu.com/~bryce/Uploads/gnome-settings-daemon_2.21.91-0ubuntu6_i386.deb
doesn't crash anymore.

I'll continue to try this on my two other intel based hardy installed
laptops ...
