Bug Description

I use Gnome 3.36.8 and when i try to switch between the multiple monitor layout, i had to call multiple monitor mode atleast twice or thrice to get dual mode.

so you ran the xrandr command or modified the gnome config?

Seems Gnome issue instead, for reproducing on amdgpu try switching single-> dual-> single display mode and you'll witness. dont have Nvidia card so couldn't try it.
