I've done some debugging: http:// askubuntu. com/questions/ 465412/ how-can- i-debug- why-gnome- settings- daemon- localeexec- is-not- started- on-login
My findings are that gnome-settings- daemon receives a SIGTERM when I login, shutsdown and it does not start again.
I understand that this is not the intended behaviour. Should the SIGTERM be sent to gnome-settings- daemon in the first place? If so, why isn't it started again?
I've attached the syslog with gnome-shell debug enabled. You can see gnome-settings- daemon starting, but not dying.
